The Small Things That We Cherish

Preface~ This is our first blog post. We are so thankful that you have stopped by and would love for you to journey along with us as we find our voices for LOVE TO IMAGINE. We are excited to share inspiring creative ideas, healthy recipes, fun entertainment ideas, and continue to improve on the many details that go into blogging.

Our homes are evidence of where we have been, the memories that we make, and who we are. Days so often pass us by as we hurry through them with many intentions. In spite of it all, the smallest of things in our homes can be a happy reminder of the special people who walk through life with us.

We recently lost a special family member. My step dad had been an exceptional part of completing our family for twenty years. He entered our lives right before the birth of our first child and immediately became known as Papa to us all. He loved my mom, cars- old and new, the stock market, tennis, wine, wine and did I say he had some great knowledge on wine.

We recently visited my mom’s to help her with the challenging adjustments that come with loss. While we were there I spotted this wonderful old oil can sitting on his work bench. It is such a perfect reminder of Papa’s love for cars and his appreciation for saving old things that worked perfectly well. I don’t think he would mind that I saw it as a perfect flower vessel and an even more perfect way to remember his kindness, wisdom, and loyalty.  Thanks Papa!

Psalm 73:26

My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
